The first time Dr. John Nikoleit was introduced to the field of orthopedics was as a patient. As a young athlete, he suffered four fractures and was treated by orthopedic surgeons, sparking a desire to become an orthopedic surgeon himself. His experience as an orthopedic patient allows him to relate to his patients and understand what they are experiencing. It is his great joy to help his patients as a general orthopedic surgeon.
Dr. Nikoleit earned his medical degree from Rush Medical College in 1990 and finished his post-graduate education in orthopedic surgery at the University of Illinois Hospital.
Since 1998, Dr. Nikoleit has been committed to treating patients, their family, and their friends at Elmhurst Orthopedics. Here, he excels in arthroscopic ligament reconstruction and total joint replacement. With the ability to diagnose and treat any general orthopedic concern, Dr. Nikoleit is dedicated to giving his patients quality and well-rounded orthopedic care.
Dr. Nikoleit enjoys the outdoors in his free time, finding joy in being in the woods and fishing. When he is not outdoors, as a Chicago native, he enjoys the sports, restaurants, and everything else that the city has to offer.
Dr. Nikoleit’s ability to connect with his patients and build a bond of trust and accountability is not only something that he strives for, but it is what he has to offer each of his patients. Regardless of the problem, his patients can always count on him for kind and personalized care.
Whether you’ve suffered a fracture, injury, or just plain wear-and-tear, Dr. Nikoleit is here for you. If you are experiencing pain, he will provide you with an examination or second opinion so that you can get back to living your life on your terms.
